FTI Consulting Appoints Charles Armitstead as UK Head of the Strategic Communications Segment

London, 12 June 2025 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that Charles Armitstead has been appointed UK Head of the Strategic Communications segment to further support sustained growth in the UK market.

Based in London, Mr. Armitstead re-joined FTI Consulting in 2024 as UK Head of Capital Markets, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the business, having started his career with Financial Dynamics (acquired by FTI Consulting in 2006), in 1999. He spent 12 years at FTI Consulting, with postings in London, New York, and Washington, D.C. He co-founded Pendomer Communications in 2011, leading the firm as Managing Partner until its acquisition by Teneo in 2016. He then went on to establish and lead Teneo’s UK Financial Communications practice for eight years.

Mr. Armitstead’s new role will be effective from July 1st 2025. He succeeds John Waples, who will continue in his role as EMEA Chairman of FTI Consulting Strategic Communications, collaborating with the multi-country team to expand the firm’s presence across EMEA.

The Strategic Communications segment in the UK has seen strong momentum in the first half of 2025 with new clients including Croda International, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Phoenix Group and Reckitt.

“This is an exciting moment for the business,” said John Waples, EMEA Chair of Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting. “Since re-joining FTI, Charlie has made a big contribution to our growth and is focused on maintaining that momentum. He knows the firm well, and he’s looking forward to working with everyone to further build our capabilities in London.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Armitstead said, “I’m enormously privileged to have the opportunity to lead a business where I started my career 25 years ago and build on the great foundations that John Waples and the UK team have established. Our strong momentum in the first half of 2025 highlights the great potential for further growth and I look forward to working closely with colleagues in the UK and across the world to continue our progress.”
