FTI Consulting Adds Strategic Implementation and Communications Expert Jennifer Y. Kaplan to Public Affairs Practice

Washington, D.C., June 3, 2025 FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Jennifer Y. Kaplan, a former White House and U.S. Commerce Department official and complex issues management expert, as a Managing Director in the U.S. Public Affairs practice within its Strategic Communications segment.

Ms. Kaplan, who is based in Washington, D.C., will deliver public affairs and communications strategies for C-suite leaders, boards, senior government officials and business executives who are working to balance risk management and growth.  She will work closely with FTI Consulting’s cross-functional teams in industries including aerospace and defense; automotive and industrial; financial services; retail and consumer products; and telecom, media and technology.

Ms. Kaplan has more than 20 years of public- and private-sector experience in public affairs, strategic communications, issues and reputation management, multisector stakeholder engagement, implementation, and long-term strategy execution.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, she served in the Biden administration as Senior Advisor to U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and then as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to Stephen Benjamin, the Director of the Office of Public Engagement. In both roles, she developed and executed strategies to connect the expertise of Fortune 500 companies and regional business leaders to administration initiatives, from improving supply chains and infrastructure to trade, technology and geopolitical priorities. Ms. Kaplan also served in roles at the White House during the Obama administration.

Previously, Ms. Kaplan helped build the Greater Washington Partnership, a regional coalition of leading employers from Baltimore to Richmond, and was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where she launched and led the 10,000 Small Businesses program in Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit.

“As our clients are living through unprecedented disruptions, Jenny brings unique expertise and insights to help them transcend beyond crisis and leverage moments of change to create transformational opportunities,” said Jackson Dunn, Americas Head of Public Affairs for the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. “Jenny’s joining strengthens our expertise-driven bench of strategic advisors to help clients develop risk mitigation strategies to inoculate their businesses against evolving uncertainties.”

Commenting on her appointment, Ms. Kaplan said, “I was drawn to FTI Consulting because of the unique expertise at the firm – from building communications strategies and understanding regulatory affairs to developing solutions for cybersecurity, forensic litigation, corporate finance and more. This broad range allows us to deliver results and trusted counsel during almost any moment of consequence facing our clients. It is an exciting time to join FTI Consulting, and I look forward to contributing to the team.”

In addition to Ms. Kaplan, the practice recently added Payne Griffin, who previously served as a senior policy advisor to members of the U.S. Congress and as Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, as a Senior Director.
