Global Energy & Natural Resources Sector Statement of Core Principles & Beliefs

The FTI Strategic Communications Energy & Natural Resources Sector has a defined Statement of Core Principles & Beliefs. This global statement informs the work we do across the sector and the core principles that underpin our business.

We believe:

  • That climate change is real, anthropogenic, and poses a significant threat to the health, well-being and safety of billions of people around the world.
  • That addressing climate change is the biggest international, environmental and social cause of our lifetime.
  • That we all have an obligation to take meaningful actions to prevent future adverse outcomes (such as the two-degree scenario) from fully materializing.
  • That accomplishing our shared goals will require decarbonizing our economies on an extraordinary scale, working across all relevant sectors and geographies around the world.

How those views and principles inform our approach to our work:

  • We neither pursue nor accept work from firms or organizations that question the science supporting our current understanding of climate change.
  • We neither pursue nor accept work that involves advocating for a position that is adverse to renewable or low-carbon energy technologies.
