FTI Consulting Expands Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications Practice in EMEA with Appointment of Orla Cox

Dublin, Ireland, 13 May 2024 — FTI Consulting, Inc (NYSE: FCN) announces that Senior Director Orla Cox will join the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications global practice in the firm’s Strategic Communications segment. The move builds on the firm’s commitment to expand its cybersecurity crisis communications and preparedness capabilities across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region.

Ms. Cox, who has more than 20 years of experience in crisis communications and cybersecurity, has advised companies across EMEA on a broad range of reputation issues and crises since joining the firm in 2021. Ms. Cox was previously head of threat intelligence communications at the cybersecurity company Symantec, where she was at the forefront of investigations and responses to major cybersecurity incidents, including those involving Stuxnet and the WannaCry ransomware attacks.

In her role on the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications team, Ms. Cox will accelerate the expansion of the practice across EMEA and cross-border collaboration to support FTI Consulting’s multinational client base. The practice provides communications advisory to companies preparing for, responding to or recovering from major cybersecurity incidents. Ms. Cox’s move will ensure the EMEA team can respond to growing demand for cybersecurity and data privacy communications advisory services across the region.

“We continue to see businesses struggle to meet the expectations from stakeholders for timely, accurate and transparent communication following a cybersecurity incident,” said Meredith Griffanti, Global Head of the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications practice within the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. “Additionally, in light of the increasing frequency of cybersecurity incidents and complexity of new regulation in Europe, there is a growing demand for leaders to demonstrate effective oversight and management of these risks across multiple jurisdictions. Orla is a skilled communicator and a veteran of the cybersecurity industry — and with her leadership on the team in EMEA, we will be able to provide our clients with even deeper expertise to manage those challenges.”

Jonathan Neilan, Ireland lead for the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting, said, “Our commitment is to provide clients with the insight and expertise to address the most challenging risks to their reputation. The emergence of cybersecurity as a significant business risk requires dedicated expertise, and we are pleased to have someone with Orla’s experience and track record to drive our practice forward in EMEA.”
