Shifting Expectations: Mexico Survey Results
COVID-19 has sent shockwaves through every aspect of our lives and we are just beginning to understand the long-lasting impacts of the changes and challenges that lie ahead.
FTI understand that companies are no exception to these new challenges, where there is no return to “normal,” and sought to have a deeper understanding of the long-term implications of COVID-19 on businesses and the economy as the pandemic evolves. Therefore, FTI launched a qualitative survey of the short and long-term implications of COVID-19 on perceptions of business and individuals in the new landscape.
Key findings show that attitudes and expectations towards businesses and their management are changing dramatically in Mexico. Companies’ Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts are fully appreciated in some cases, whereas they are more strictly scrutinized in other occasions. Therefore, a window of opportunity has opened for the private sector. Businesses may have an outsized voice in their response to care for employees, customers and those in need throughout the pandemic.
This survey is part of a broader effort in which FTI evaluated other countries, including the United States and Brazil, that will help companies navigate the new landscape and serve as a guide for the new challenges that the country will face in this uncharted path to recovery.
