Podcast: The evolution of bankruptcy

FTI’s Angelo Thalassinos sat down with Jared Elias, a Professor of Law, the Bion M. Gregory Chair in Business Law and the Faculty Director of the Center for Business Law at UC Hastings to discuss the evolution of bankruptcy, how public and stakeholder perception and advocacy has influenced the restructuring process, and how some firms are able to stave off chapter 11.

Can bankruptcy even be a useful tool for corporations? Has the stigma around bankruptcy lessened? How is the traditional role of the corporation and its relationship to government in our system of capitalism evolving?
