FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications Segment Welcomes 7 New Graduates to Class of 2021/22 in London

14 Graduates from Class of 2020/21 Take on Permanent Consultant Positions

Over 40 New Colleagues Hired Since January, Further Strengthening UK Business

LONDON, 6 September 2021 – FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today welcomed seven new graduates to its 2021/22 Strategic Communications graduate programme in the UK. Alongside these new joiners, 14 of the 2020/21 graduate cohort have been allocated permanent positions at the Consultant level, further strengthening the firm’s junior talent pool in London.

John Waples, EMEA Vice Chairman and Head of the Strategic Communications segment in the UK at FTI Consulting, said: “During an exciting time for our business, we are thrilled to welcome seven new graduates to an already growing team and to offer our 2020 cohort permanent positions as Consultants. Our Graduate Scheme is renowned for providing participants with a unique chance to work at one of the world’s most dynamic communications firms, alongside top advisers who counsel some of the most innovative brands of our time. We are proud to have a longstanding cohort of graduate alumni in our business, some of whom now sit in our most senior ranks. From the outset, our new graduates will have the opportunity to work with some of the best in the industry as we address complex communications needs for our clients”.

Now in its 14th year, the programme allows graduates to rotate between different industry sector teams, providing a unique insight into the possible career paths within FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment. With rotations in digital, public affairs, change management, crisis, sustainability and ESG, and a range of sector teams specialising in financial and corporate communications, graduates gain exposure to a diverse roster of clients while experiencing unique situations working with small and large companies.

Tom Blackwell, a Managing Director and FTI Consulting Strategic Communications 2010 Graduate Scheme alumnus, said: “The Grad Scheme was a great experience and gave me a foundation to build a career in both communications and at FTI Consulting. The resources that go into graduate development and hands-on involvement from senior leadership really shows how much FTI Consulting believes in fostering and retaining great talent. It’s brilliant that so many of our grad scheme alumni have built successful careers at FTI Consulting and are now playing their part in mentoring the next wave of grads.”

At the end of the 10-month programme, graduates are invited to submit their preferred specialty choices, which are considered when allocating teams. Graduates will be onboarded via a hybrid working model, with a two-week calendar of training sessions and networking opportunities.

Shaliz Navab, a Consultant and 2019 Graduate Scheme alumnus, said: “When I was accepted onto the scheme, I was made aware by many people around me that FTI Consulting is a great company with high-profile clients and interesting strategic projects. My experience at the company has shown this to be true. I have been able to work with global companies in several different industries and have met so many kind and interesting people. I’ve found that FTI Consulting is a place where creativity and innovation are encouraged and rewarded; if you have an idea, there will be someone open to listen to it.”

Today’s graduate cohort follows several new strategic hires made by the UK business in recent months, including in practices such as ESG and digital. Since 1 January 2021, the Strategic Communications segment in London has welcomed 43 new faces to its team, further strengthening its UK business and global platform.
