FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications Segment Welcomes 14 New Graduates to Class of 2020/21 in London

  • 13 Graduates from Class of 2019/20 Take on Permanent Consultant Positions
  • Over 30 New Permanent Colleagues Hired since March, Further Strengthening UK Business

LONDON, 7 September 2020 – FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today welcomed 14 new graduates to its 2020/21 Strategic Communications graduate programme in the UK. Alongside these new joiners, 13 of the 2019/20 graduate cohort have been allocated permanent positions at the Consultant level, further strengthening the firm’s junior talent pool in London.

Now in its thirteenth year, the programme allows graduates to rotate between different industry sector teams, providing a unique insight into the possible career paths within the Strategic Communications segment. With rotations in digital, public affairs, change management, international communications and a range of sector teams specialising in financial and corporate communications, graduates gain exposure to a diverse roster of clients while experiencing unique situations working with small and large companies. At the end of the 10-month programme, graduates are invited to submit their preferred specialty choices, which are taken into consideration when allocating teams. This year, graduates will be onboarded virtually with a two-week calendar of training sessions and networking opportunities.

John Waples, EMEA Vice Chairman and Head of the Strategic Communications segment in the UK at FTI Consulting, said: “We are delighted to welcome 14 fresh new minds to our UK business and to offer 13 graduates from our 2019 cohort permanent positions. As the economic impact of COVID-19 continues to unfold, many young professionals graduating from university face a tough reality, but we are proud to be able to support these individuals as they kick-start their careers in the communications industry. We believe in employing inquisitive, talented people who thrive in demanding roles. I am excited for our new graduates as they begin training in how to make a difference for our clients from day one.”

Today’s graduate cohort follows several new strategic hires made by the UK business in recent months. These include Jakob Rasmussen, formerly the data and insights lead at Portland, who joins as a Director in FTI Consulting’s Digital and Insights team to support the growth of its advanced analytics programme. Helen Nowicka also joined the business in February as UK Head of Sustainability in the Strategic Communications segment, driving forward a comprehensive offer to clients on ESG matters. Since March 1, 2020, the Strategic Communications segment has hired and onboarded 31 new permanent colleagues as it continues to strengthen its UK business.
