Overview Of The Social CAC
88% of CAC40 companies use social networks for their financial communications, an increase of 8 points since our previous study.
This 2nd edition of the Social CAC developed by FTI Consulting reveals the growing importance given by companies and their audiences to the publication of financial results on social media. Following the announcement of the 2017 annual results, FTI Consulting recorded a significant improvement in the volume of publications, sharing and public interactions, up 137% and 133% respectively compared to the results of the previous half year.
Total, Axa and Danone, which dominate our Social CAC FTI Consulting 2018 ranking in this order, have achieved the best European levels of performance by proposing strong messages, supported by particularly rich and adapted content, that respect the markers of social networks: 1/ Telling a story ; 2/ Keeping it simple ; 3/ Providing quality content and 4/ Generating interactions with the public. These three companies, which have increased their publication volume, carefully presented their financial information and paid particular attention to their spokespersons, have also made better use of all of the social media than in our previous study.
Twitter remains the most used social network for communication financial results, with 90% of the CAC 40 having relayed the 2017 results. With a usage rate of 75%, LinkedIn recorded the strongest growth, with an increase of by 30 points since the publication of the previous half-year. From In addition, the FTI Consulting study shows a better rate of public interaction on LinkedIn with an average of 564 shares on Twitter compared to 318 over the previous year. YouTube and Facebook usage is increasing also, with results publication rates of 43%. on YouTube and 23% on Facebook, an increase of respective 23 and 10 points.
If 15 CAC 40 companies generated at least 1,000 reactions to the publication of their annual results, our Top 10 still account for 65% of total interactions compared to 70% previously.

SocialCAC: Financial Communication And Social Networks
36 of the 40 CAC 40 companies now use at least one social media platform to expose their financial communication. They were only 33 in the previous edition. Four groups, Total, Danone, PSA and Safran, have made their entry into the Top 10 of our ranking when the 2017 annual results are published. 4 CAC40 companies, Bouygues, Capgemini, Kering and Publicis Groupe used the 4 social media we analyzed to disseminate their 2017 annual results. Only Publicis Groupe had followed this policy during our previous study. A comparison of the performance of the Top 10 CAC 40, DAX 30 and FTSE 100 companies at the beginning of 2018 shows an average of higher in France, driven by the marked increase in the recorded since our previous study.
