Following a recent organisational restructure within the House of Commons Service, the Corporate Services Management Board wanted to celebrate and recognise its achievements and acknowledge personal contributions.
In partnership with the Corporate Services Management Board, we developed, designed and facilitated an interactive away-day in which we reflected on how to build a stronger team and how to successfully plan ahead at a strategic level – with the aim of learning more about each other, how we work together and how that could be improved.
In advance of the away-day, each team member completed a Lumina Spark psychometric profile and was asked to come prepared to share a personal story with their colleagues. The away-day commenced with an introduction to the Lumina Spark tool and the value in understanding each other’s profiles – this was supported by a highly engaging mat and card activity in which participants shared and owned different qualities and explored different perspectives.
Having begun the journey into exploring different perspectives, we moved to one of the many immersive group activities the team would work through – sharing personal stories.
The Corporate Services Management Board was stronger as a team, developed a strategic plan to take them forward and enhanced their understanding of each other and how best to work together to achieve the best outcome.
They also had the tools that they needed to provide high quality leadership, to communicate effectively and to work collaboratively towards a shared vision.
