FTI Consulting advised a private packaging and engineered coatings manufacturing company on its dual-track exit strategy. The company had recently rolled-up several packaging companies within a private equity portfolio and turned to FTI Consulting to help develop the company’s corporate positioning.
To develop a corporate story that would enable the company to garner the highest valuation possible upon exit, FTI Consulting conducted both primary and secondary research to understand how the stock market values companies in the packaging space, as well as the financial and non-financial factors that drive premium valuations in the industry. Utilizing a research-driven approach to inform messaging, FTI Consulting then worked collaboratively with the company and private equity firm to develop a cohesive story that would build on the company’s existing achievements, reiterate its business strategies and provide direction for the future of the company. FTI Consulting handled all aspects of the content and design of the new corporate presentation and held training sessions with the executive team to deliver a presentation that would resonate with potential buyers and institutional investors (if the company chose to pursue a public offering).
Following the completion of the research, presentation development and training, the executive team met with the top investment bankers in the industry to provide an update on the company and to drive interest in supporting its future exit strategy. Feedback from the bankers in attendance was extremely favorable. As a result, the company was able to choose its preferred banker to prepare its exit strategy.
This company continues to be an FTI Consulting client.
